TDA for Schools - teach

The brief

As anyone who's ever pondered becoming a teacher quickly realises, it's a bit more complicated than picking up a stick of chalk at the front of a classroom. teach magazine is central to the Training and Development Agency for Schools' (TDA) recruitment drive to transform wannabe teachers into fully qualified applicants.

The challenge

teach highlights the breadth and scope of different roles within teaching, promoting key subjects and regions where teachers are needed most across the UK, and thereby improving TDA application levels. The magazine creates a dialogue between existing teaching staff, and those who are shaping their future careers in the profession. Each issue presents some of the challenges and opportunities in education, alongside practical information and inspirational stories.

Results

An independent NOP study revealed that 96 per cent of recipients read between 50 to 100 per cent of every issue of teach, with an average reading time of 45 minutes, twice the industry average. In the same survey, 63 per cent of those surveyed agreed strongly that teach helps them discover routes into teaching, and 70 per cent rated the magazine as 'excellent' or 'very good'.

teach was shortlisted at the 2006 APA Awards in the Most Effective Publication, Public Sector category.
