The brief

When Detectagas invented and patented a new method of testing domestic carbon monoxide (CO) detectors, it needed a PR campaign to highlight the serious issues around CO poisoning and awareness of its product.

The challenge

Using a clearly defined strategy, STAN aimed to achieve maximum exposure for Detectagas' new product.

PR response

STAN targeted editor contacts across a range of key print and online trade media covering the heating and ventilating, health and safety, public, fire and emergency service sectors. Using a broader health and safety messaging about the dangers of CO poisoning and the need to check CO detectors regularly, STAN positioned the Detectagas product to this influential audience.

Results

With significant awareness and sales enquiries, STAN's PR approach created excellent profile for Detectagas in the UK, resulting in the product's nomination for a major industry award as Domestic Heating & Ventilating Product of the Year.
