Heart and circulatory disease is the UK's biggest killer, accounting for around four in ten deaths. As the UK's leading heart charity, the BHF needed a communication programme that would promote heart healthy lifestyles, educate people about heart disease and support patients and their carers.
To deliver these objectives, we created heart matters magazine. Packed with engaging, accessible and practical information heart mattes helps readers to take control of their own health, and enables them to make health-healthy lifestyle choices. At the same time the magazine keeps readers up-to-date with developments in research and campaigning and enables them to support the work of the BHF. We put real people first, of all ages and different cultures using photography, case studies and interviews with patients, carers and experts. In addition to heart matters we have produced a series of magazine supplements and one-off publications that target specific groups, such as the UK South Asian community, families with school age children and careers, as well as supplements that focus on particular issues, such as getting online and concordance with medication. Heart matters now has more than 1 million readers across the UK who regularly engage with the BHF.
“PSP Rare played a vital role in supporting BHF to launch heart matters, our membership magazine. The creativity and the innovation of the PSP Rare team helped to ensure that we built on our success year on year . We now have over 300,000 members of Heart Matters and a readership of over 1 million.
We have enjoyed a fantastic working relationship with our account team at PSP Rare over the last seven years. They are professional, hard working and care about the membership magazine as much as we do. In addition to publishing heart matters magazine PSP Rare also worked on several other products with us including an annual calendar, a book to commemorate our 50th year and several informative supplements for our magazine. Every product was delivered on schedule, to a high standard and within budget. In October 2011 we launched heart matters online which we could not have done without PSP Rare.
If you are looking for a publishing agency with excellent design and editorial credentials then you'll find what you are looking for at PSP Rare. They are adept at understanding the needs of the target audience and working with the organisation's brand to deliver a high quality product that is modern, warm and engaging.'.
