PSP Rare’s Alex Wood headed off from its Manchester office to Trafford Park recently to cover Kia’s national 5-a-side football championship final at the Powerleague Soccerdome, for Kia’s eureka magazine.

PSP Rare also sent local photographer Rebecca Lupton to take shots of the matches and capture some memorable portraits of the winning team for the magazine.

“It was a fantastic event, and perfect weather,” said Alex. “The teams were really excited, having beaten off competition at regional finals to get this far with a chance of winning a trip to South Africa during the World Cup.”

“The finals were really close, and the winning team were great to interview. They were understandably ecstatic to be heading to the World Cup to watch one of the Quarter Final matches.”

Rebecca Lupton added: “Capturing high quality portraits of the team on and off the pitch was an interesting challenge,” she said. “Luckily the staff were helpful and I was able to set up some of my studio lighting on one of the unused pitches. The brief from PSP Rare was very specific to get the exact right photos to suit the style and quality of eureka magazine, but the winning team was very co-operative and patient as I positioned them to get the right photos. I don’t think they’d been professionally photographed before, and were particularly excited about being featured in a high quality magazine.”

eureka magazine is circulated to around 70,000 UK Kia car owners provides insight into Kia’s range of cars and the future development of its fleet. Recent articles in eureka include a feature on urban farmers; an article exploring technological advancements in the next ten years; and an article on the history of traffic lights.
