Pride London, the charity behind the UK’s Annual LGBT Pride Festival and Parade, has appointed PSPRare Publishing to produce its annual magazine from 2008. Designed as a one-stop-shop for all Pride London events the magazine will mark a new period in the promotion of one of London’s most important cultural community events.
Nearly half a million people took part in the series of events in 2007 which include the two week Pride Festival; the Parade itself, which takes in Oxford St, Regents St, Piccadilly, Trafalgar Sq and Whitehall; with associated events such as the Leicester Sq Cabaret stage, Soho Sq Women’s stage and Soho Street Party.
The 140 page magazine (published annually in June) with a nationwide distribution of 100,000 forms the cornerstone of the publicity material surrounding the events – driving awareness, attendance and enthusiasm for Pride London.
Significantly the magazine reaches a diverse audience across the UK incorporating the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) community, friends, family and supporters – who actively participate with the wide range of planned events. Pride London Magazine will provide readers with a detailed account of the various events showing why Pride is still relevant to the LGBT community throughout the UK.
Andrew Murray, Communications Director for the charity Pride London said: “We are very pleased to be working with PSPRare Publishing, their experience with titles such as the Lord Mayors Show Guide makes them an excellent partner for another of London’s greatest annual events. Also their remote digital proofing system really benefits the team here who work from several different offices.”
Marc Bates, Publisher of Pride London Magazine, said: “We are thrilled to be working with the Pride team to create a medium that will ensure that more people than ever participate in and experience the fun and empowerment inherent in this annual demonstration of community spirit.”
PSPRare Publishing’s Art director, Colin Goad, added: “Cutting edge design is second nature to this audience and as such it’s great fun to be able to really push the boundaries of magazine design.”
